Freddie Larry
Chandler
Apr 14, 1955 — Oct 6, 2025
Greeleyville
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Freddie Larry Chandler, 70 husband of Viola Chandler, of Greeleyville, SC, who passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Life Reflection
Freddie Larry Chandler Sr., son of the late Desmond Chandler and Elease Chandler was born on April 14, 1955, in Lane, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by siblings; Sylvester Chandler, Ruth Williams, Mary Lee Chandler, Rolley Chandler and Elmer Chandler. He received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County, and he was a graduate of C.E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, South Carolina class of 1975.
On Monday, October 6, 2025, God, in his infinite wisdom, called Freddie Larry Chandler Sr., home to eternal rest at Carlyle Senior Care, Kingstree, South Carolina.
Freddie was an excellent cement finisher and a brick mason, and he worked for Brason Construction and various construction companies throughout the Charleston, South Carolina area, where he later became a self-employed construction contractor. He was a leader not a follower, and was an intelligent man, with a brilliant mind. He could read blueprints with no formal training, and he was exemplary and skilled in mathematics. Freddie had a sarcastic wit, and he always spoke his mind and told it just like it is. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and living his life unapologetically to the fullest on his own terms.
His memory will forever be cherished by: his wife, Viola Chandler of Greeleyville, SC; his children, Andreana Chandler of Greeleyville, SC, Freddie Chandler, Jr. of Manning, SC and Kirk Chandler of Greeleyville, SC; four sisters, Ida Mae Clay of New York, Hattie Mae Dewgard of New York, Roseanne Gail of New York and Elsie Cunningham of Florence, SC; sisters-in-law, Frances Chandler of New Jersey, Donna Chandler of Virginia, Louise Mouzon of New Haven, CT, Florence Keels of Manning, SC, Shirley Finkley of Greeleyville, SC and Carolyn (Jessie) McClary of Greeleyville, SC; brothers-in-law, Clarence Dukes of Greeleyville, SC and Leroy Matthews of Manning, SC; eleven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and cousins.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
