Life Reflections
Psalm 91:16 "With long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation."
Frances Williams Hickson was born April 12, 1927, to the late James and Alvereen Brown Williams. She attended the public schools in Williamsburg County, where she met her husband, the late Isadore Hickson. Together they worked on the farm with mainly tobacco and soybean fields. They grew their own garden and raised their own farm animals. Frances accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined new Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member for many, many years.
Frances had a love for flowers and often told her family to "Give me my flowers while I am here to enjoy them." She would send countless hours gardening. One of her favorite pasttimes was to sit on the porch and talk about the good ole days or entertain family and friends over a good meal.
A native of Williamsburg County, she was married to the late Isadore Hickson. Together were born twelve children, Carrie Dell (Jake) Green, Robert (Laura) Hickson, Mary Helen (Woodrow) McElveen, John L. Hickson (Mary), Mary Frances Ham, Thomas Lee Hickson, Carl Hickson, Johnny Lee Hickson, Jeanette (Kenneth) McCray, Carolyn (Carl) Taylor and the late Caletha (Charles) McElveen and James Allen Hickson. A daughter-in-law, Gloria Hickson. Frances has 40 grandchildren, 75 great grands, and 23 great, great grands; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish her memory.
The family is receiving friends and family at 13100 Truluck Road, Olanta, SC.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Lake City, SC. 843-354-2292.
