Obituary

With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Evangelist Linda Diane Marion, 76, wife of Donald Marion, who passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Life Reflections

Evangelist Chaplain Linda Diane Marion was born March 1, 1949, in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Gladys and Charles Reid. Linda was preceded in death by: her parents, three of her siblings, Charles Reid Jr., Brinda Reid, and Ronald Reid.

Linda leaves to cherish her loving memories: her loving husband, Chaplain Donald Marion of 39 years. They were together for 43 years, they were blessed with raising two lovely children from the Lord, Lawrence (Yolanda) Marshall and Shaquetta (Andre) Walton. A very special part of her heart was her love for her grandchildren, Dandre Walton, Faith Walton, LA Marshall, Matthew Marshall, and Natalia Morton. Linda was a loving and caring aunt who leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Linda cherished many special friendships with most of them lasting the remainder of her life. She attended and graduated from Ferris High School in 1967.

Linda worked for a local trucking company as a bookkeeper for several years before deciding to further her education in accounting at the Jersey City School of Business. She worked for Western Union in New York for four years. She landed a job at the largest food chain in NJ, Path Mark. She started at entry level and worked her way up to becoming a front-end manager and trainer for the cashiers. She retired from Path Mark after 26 years. Linda continued her passion in finances by landing a job with Bank of America as a Customer Service Specialist. During those years of working, Linda had a spiritual encounter while attending Heavenly Temple COGIC in Jersey City. That encounter with the Lord caused her to surrender her life to Christ in 1984. She became hungry for the word of God and further her biblical studies to achieve her certification as an Evangelist/Missionary in 1989. Her life Scripture was 1 Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."  Linda also accomplished her Bachelor of Divinity with a major in Religious Studies from the Almeda College and University.

Linda knew how to share the word of God under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and when you left her presence, you knew you were in the presence where the spirit and love of the Lord dwells. She had a way of painting a picture of whatever she was speaking or teaching about, and it kept your attention to want to hear more. Her love for the word of God and serving others was visible in all she did. Her family and friends felt she made the best cheesecake and apple pie in the world. It was never a dull moment around her, she loved playing all kinds of games. In 2007, Linda and her husband decided to move to Summerville, SC to enjoy retirement, or so they thought. Linda eventually desired to keep busy and began working at BJ's for several years. In 2018, Linda joined a volunteer team of Chaplain's on behalf of Berkeley County Sheriff Department with her husband to minister at the Hill Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner, SC. They also ministered at the Al Cannon Detention Center in North Charleston, SC, along with various nursing homes.

The family is receiving friends and family at her late residence, 260 Austin Creek Court, Summerville, SC.
