Salters
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Ernestine Nelson, 78, of Salters, SC, who passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Life Reflections
"But we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you should not sorrow as others who have no hope."
1 Thessalonians 4:13
Ms. Ernestine Nelson, affectionately known as "Tippy", departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on April 24, 2025 in Florence, South Carolina. She was born on July 16, 1946 in Salters, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Florence Nelson.
Tippy was a graduate of Tomlinson High School Class of 1965. Her strong beliefs in education led her to further studies by attending Morris College in Sumter, SC.
Tippy was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Salters, SC, where she attended faithfully until her health declined. When Tippy could not attend church, she would call around to make sure someone would stop by to pick up her tithe and offering by Sunday Mornings.
Tippy was very dedicated to her family business, "The 300 Spot", also known as "Dimmie and Tippy Store", where all were welcomed and greeted by Tippy. Every child looked forward to going to seeing Tippy because you were sure to leave with some goodies or sometimes even money.
Tippy was someone near and dear to our hearts and her presence will be greatly missed.
Loved ones left to cherish her precious memories are: one brother, Leonard Nelson (Diane) of Manning, SC; nephews, Derrick Nelson, Laquan Nelson and LaKef Nelson all of Manning, SC; one niece, Latonya Nelson of Union, NJ; grand-nieces and nephews; cousins, Gloria Tarte (Carl), Sadie Fulwood, Dwight Nelson, Darius Nelson, Elnora Nelson, Bennie Boykin (Normadine), Bobby Boykin and Janie Venable; several other cousins, relatives, caregivers, friends, and the entire Backwoods Community of Salters, SC.
"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 4:14
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
