Life Reflections
Elois Ann Elmore Evans, daughter of the late James and Eula Mae Chandler Elmore, was born on June 17, 1948 in Sumter County, South Carolina. She was married for 59 years to her high school sweetheart on June 11, 1965. On Saturday, February 15, 2025, God's amazing voice whispered to Elois to take her rest from labor and she answered His call.
Elois received her formal education at Walker-Gamble School in New Zion, SC. She worked different jobs, but her most lovable one was manager at East Clarendon Middle/High School Cafeteria in Turbeville, SC for twenty-five years.
At an early age, Elois began her spiritual journey and joined Howard Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she worked relentlessly in the church until her health began to fail. She currently held the position as head of the Kitchen Committee, also as a Missionary, as well as other positions throughout the years, including Church Secretary, Usher Board Member, and the Steward Board.
Elois enjoyed her family, especially her great grandchildren. She also loved to cook and bake cakes and pies, her favorite was yellow rice, pound cake and biscuits. Elois loved all her family dearly and did everything in her power to keep peace and harmony.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Eula Mae Chandler Elmore; her daughter, Liza Marcella Evans Davis; her son, Warren Evans; her two sisters, Shirley Ann Elmore and Eulalee Elmore; four brothers, Willie Edward Elmore, James Lewis Elmore, Michael Elmore and Larry Elmore; also a special cousin, Kathleen Montgomery.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a very loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Clinton Evans Jr. of the home; one devoted daughter, Laura Ann (Steven) Locklear of Turbeville, SC; two loving sons, Clinton (Karen) Evans and Jerome (Cetrisie) Evans both of Lake City, SC; three loving sisters, Dorothy Elmore and Polly Evans both of Lake City, SC and Juanitar (Charles) Miller of New Zion, SC; nine grandchildren, Keshia, Demetrius, Cassandra, Lakeia, Keith, Chelsy, Maxwell, Kera and Nathaniel; two step-grandchildren, Whitney and Laquinton; nine great grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye, Aaliyah, Ava, Amara, Kasey, Trenton, Kamaiyah, Payton, Kaison and Marcus; one sister-in-law, Wanda Elmore of Kingstree, SC; and adopted son, Albert Brown of Manning, SC; six special and devoted friends, Laura Mae McFadden, Mattie Evans, Mary Jane Howard, Mable Eaddy, RoBertha Fleming and Mable Montgomery; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
