Life Reflections

Elliott Danny Pressley III—known to many simply as "Danny" and affectionately called "Big Unit" - entered eternal rest on December 7, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on August 4, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York, to Elliott and Annie Mae Pressley, Danny spent his early years in the city before relocating to South Carolina at a young age.     He was preceded in death by his father, Elliott Pressley, II.

Danny attended Battery Park Elementary and Hemingway High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and created memories that remained dear to him. He proudly graduated in the Class of 1984 and remained close to many of his high school classmates.

Danny's life was a true testament to love, laughter, and loyalty. He adored his wife, Elaine, and treasured his son, Elijah, as well as his grandchildren, Liam and Aleia, who brought him endless joy. His family was his heart, and he poured his love into them with unwavering devotion.

A man of tremendous work ethic and natural charisma, Danny's passion for people shined through his career at Cale Yarborough Honda in Florence, where he excelled as a top salesman. He had a remarkable gift—he could connect with anyone, brighten their day, and leave a lasting impression. To Danny, selling cars wasn't just a profession; it was an opportunity to share his warmth, humor, and big heart with everyone he met.

Danny's charismatic personality and contagious smile were unforgettable. He was the comedian of the family—full of life, jokes, laughter, and stories that could light up any room. He never met a stranger. Wherever he went, he carried joy with him, leaving behind smiles, laughter, and a sense of comfort. His kindness was boundless; he was always ready to help someone in need. He was a gentle giant with a tough exterior but a soft heart that made it hard for him to say no to anyone in need. He was a man of his word and if he said he was going to do something, consider it done. You could always depend on him.

Known for his impeccable style, Danny loved fine clothing, sharp jewelry, and quality cologne. When he stepped into a room, his presence was instantly felt—confident, polished, and uniquely himself.

Danny was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Ernest W. Frierson, where he served faithfully on the Usher Board.

Danny leaves behind a loving and devoted family who will forever cherish his memory: his wife, Elaine Pressley; his mother, Annie Pressley; his son, Elijah Pressley; his stepdaughter, Laraya Love Wilson; his grandchildren, Liam and Aleia Pressley; his niece, like a daughter, Renee Smith (Wayne); his siblings, Laurie Ann Benbow (Larry), Viola Pressley, Florena Bones, Keith Pressley (Marcella), and Kush Stevenson (Stephenie); his sisters in law, Anetha Frasier, Earnestine Brown (Chris), Ethel Frasier, Towanna Frasier, Latonya Foy (Larron), April Banks, Marion Brown, Cassandra Brown and Serena Garland; his brothers-in-law, Robertson Nesmith (Lillie), Tyrone Brown and Andre Brown; Christol Williams who he embraced and loved as his own daughter.  He was blessed with many friends that he loved including, Sandra Cooper, Orlando Pressley, Dennis Nesmith, Laurie Nesmith, LaToya Pressley and Shawndretta McCutchen; along with a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and countless friends who loved him dearly.

The Family is receiving friends at his late residence, 4108 Nesmith Road, Nesmith, SC.
