Life Reflections

Mr. Elliott "Theodore" McCray transitioned from Earth to Glory on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at his residence in the Gravestation Community of Georgetown, SC. He was born October 27,1947.

Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma McCray; bonus parents, Jessie and Inez Drayton (also his sister); brothers, James, Joseph Sr, Clarence, Paul, and Julius (Lee) McCray; bonus brothers Kenny and Cleveland Drayton; one bonus sister, Jessie Yvonne Drayton; four sisters in-law, Vivian McCray, Elizabeth McCray, Phylis McCray, Bobbie Jean White; five brothers-in-law, Sammie, Leon, Ernest Sr. Parson, Charles Berness and Joseph White and one beloved mother in-law, Janie Bell White. Elliott, affectionately known as Theodore, Lay, LA, LH, L8, Chief and McCray, was a fun- loving man. He never met a stranger and always had a laugh, joke and smart remark which displayed his love and interaction with people.

Elliott was a Christian. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was a faithful member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in various capacities through his membership. He was an Usher, Choir Member, Building Fund Committee Member and Trustee. He later became Trustee Emeritus, as his health began to weaken. Elliott retired from Georgetown Steel Mill, aka ArcelorMittal and Liberty Steel, after over 30 years of employment. He was a provider for his family and a devoted dad to his children and husband to his wife.

He left his family a legacy of love, respect, truth and honor and he will forever be remembered and cherished by a devoted and faithful wife of 54 years, Rebecca Ann White McCray; two daughters, Andrea (Morgan) Brunson and Yolanda McCray; two sons, Brad McCray and Mark (Taran) McCray; one bonus son, Anthony Ward; eight grandchildren, Bradacia McCray, Makayla Brunson, Brittany Brunson, Demetria Brunson, Peyton McCray, Kayce McCray, Kobe Brunson and Mark (MJ) McCray, Jr; one bonus grandson, Myles Johnson; four bonus siblings, Linda, Bernie Theron (Shandora) Drayton and Martha (John) Rock, four sisters-in-law, Janie Mae McCray, Lethia McCray, Mernerva Parson and Jessie Mae Parson, one bonus sister-in-law, Catherine Wineglass Drayton, one brother-in-law, Herman White, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family is receiving friends and family at 29 Henrietta Lane, Georgetown, SC.
