Life Reflections

Dorsey Heyward was born on June 16, 1953 to the late Dorsey Turner and Kula Bell Heyward. He departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Prince George Nursing Home in Georgetown, South Carolina. After the death of his mother, he was raised by James and Ada Eaddy of Hemingway, South Carolina.

Dorsey attended the public schools of Georgetown County, Deep Creek Elementary and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. Dorsey was employed by the Tobacco Warehouse in North Carolina. He joined Jerusalem A.M.E. Church at an early age.

Dorsey was preceded in death by: his parents; his guardian, Ada and James Eaddy and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a brother, Johnny Turner; nieces and nephews; a cousin raised with like a brother, Willie James Eaddy of Hemingway, SC; special cousins, Natasha (Rodney) Davis of Johnsonville, SC and Trevor McCray of Lake City, SC; members of Jerusalem A.M.E. Church who faithfully visited him; Mt. Olive Seven Day Adventist Church Members; and a host of family and friends.
