Life Reflections

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Williams was born on February 2, 1944, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Charlie Nelson Sr. and Mrs. Daisy Ree Hughes Nelson. On September 28, 2025, Dorothy peacefully entered into eternal rest at her home in Kingstree, South Carolina.

Dorothy grew up in Williamsburg County, and on November 8, 1959, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Jeremiah Williams Sr. Through this union, they were blessed with four wonderful children.

Dorothy was a faithful and devoted member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church. She diligently served her church as a member of the Gospel Choir, Pastors Aide Committee, and the Missionary Board. Dorothy lived a life of service, always lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. She worked several different occupations throughout her life, but most importantly she was known as a prayer warrior, an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Jeremiah Williams Sr.; her mother and father, Charlie and Daisy Hughes Nelson; her brother, Charlie Nelson Jr.; her sister, Laura Nesmith; her sons, Joseph Nelson and Michael Williams; along with a granddaughter, Margaret Williams; a grandson, Kamiya Brown and a great granddaughter, Jamariah Miller.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memories: her devoted children, Jeremiah (Deloris) Williams, Theresa Cunningham and Alma Spates; her loving grandchildren, Tawanna, Angelo, Sr., Antonio, Ebony, Demetri, Shirldrena, Joseph, Alicia and Nicole; six great grandchildren who she reared as her own, Desmond Williams, Dijonae Chandler, Dijon Chandler, Anjales Williams, Angelo Williams Jr., X'zarion Williams and Jai'riece Dorsey; two nephews that were like brothers, Joe Nell Nesmith and  Randolph Nesmith; Ms. Chynetta Moody who devoted her time and love from the time they met; a special nephew, she raised as her own, Ahmad Cuttino; a godson, Nathaniel Bufkin.

Dorothy's love, faith, and legacy will forever live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
