Obituary

With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Doris S. Anderson, 74, of Lake City, SC, widow of the late Willie Lee Anderson, who passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Life Reflections

Doris Singletary Anderson, affectionately known as "Monkey Do", was born July 28, 1949 to the late Allie Mae Singletary and Eugene State.

Doris answered to the call of her Heavenly father on Monday, January 6, 2025 at the home of her devoted daughter.

Doris attended the public schools of Clarendon County. She was a member of St. Mark Believers Holiness Church. She was employed with Advanced Healthcare Staffing Solutions until her health declined.

Doris was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie Lee Anderson, Sr.

Doris was preceded in death by her loving son, Willie Lee Anderson, Jr; four brothers and two sisters.

Doris was very energetic and loving. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In her free time, she loved gardening and going to church. Doris never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was full of life and enjoyed every minute of it.

Those left to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted daughter, Ashley Anderson of Lake City, SC; a loving and devoted niece that she raised from a very young age as her very own, Michelle Anderson of Bronx, NY; five grands, Keiasia Anderson, Kaden Anderson, Dacari Anderson, Christian Rush and Cheyone McFadden; two brothers, Walter Singletary of Lake City, SC and Roy State of Georgetown, SC; six sisters-in-laws, Kimberly Singletary, Bertha Singletary and Corvetta Anderson all of Lake City, SC, Hazel Singletary of Turbeville, SC, Lorine (Adam) Bostick of Baltimore, MD and Patricia Cooper of Florence, SC; three brothers-in-law, Albert (Barbara) Anderson of Lake City, SC, Frank (Billie Ann) Anderson of Mayesville, SC and Danny McCutcheon of Pensacola, FL; a special young man whom she held dear to her heart, Marquez McFadden;. Tara Peterson whom she cherished as a daughter; two special nephews, Rushawn Hanna and Terry Johnson; a special niece who was just like a sister, Mary Gibbs; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to Terrell Rush for loving and caring for Doris S. Anderson, just as you would your very own mother.

Acknowledgements and special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, MUSC Home Health and Advance Healthcare Staffing and Solutions.
