Obituary

With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Donchesia Aivete Canty, 43, of Greeleyville, SC,  who passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Life Reflections

Doncheshia Canty was born June 20, 1983 in Kingstree, South Carolina to Gwendolyn Delegall and Curtis Wilson. She departed this earthly life on October 8, 2026, at Prisma Health Medical Center in Sumter, South Carolina.

Doncheshia was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gwendolyn Delegall; her stepfather, Dennis Delegall and her two grandmothers, Virginia Canty and Virgree Wilson.

From childhood, Doncheshia loved to laugh and joke. She had a fun-loving spirit and a personality that made her a joy to be around. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a special way of bringing smiles to the faces of those around her.

Doncheshia received her education through the Williamsburg County School System and attended the illustrious C.E. Murray High School.

Doncheshia enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and making memories with the people she loved. She enjoyed fishing, playing intense games of spades with family and friends, and showing off her amazing dance moves. Doncheshia knew how to bring joy wherever she went.

Doncheshia leaves to cherish her precious memories: her four beloved children: Tykeem Canty of Sumter, South Carolina; Travis Brown Jr. of Sumter, South Carolina; Madison Canty of Olanta, South Carolina, Jquan Marion of Salters, South Carolina; three  cherished grandchildren, Tyrell  Canty, Sage Brown, and Trustion Canty, who will forever hold a special place in her heart and carry on her legacy of love; her father, Curtis (Dora) Wilson of Lane, South Carolina; one brother, Curtis (Dainese) Jones Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina; one sister, Alicia Wilson of Columbia, South Carolina; four nephews, Solomon Wade, Jayden Jones, Bradyn Davis, and Austin Hayes; two special cousins who were reared as sisters, Shonda Canty and Sheika Canty, held a unique place in her life; a special friend, Melvin Pompey, who will cherish the memories and moments they shared; along with a host of aunts,  uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Doncheshia was the kind of person whose presence could brighten a room and whose sense of humor could turn an ordinary day into a special memory.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

"Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts."
