Life Reflections
"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." — Proverbs 31:10
With deep sorrow and profound gratitude, we celebrate the life of our beloved Deloise "Lo" Brown Miller, a woman whose quiet strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love touched every soul she encountered. Lo passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on September 6, 2025, unexpectedly leaving a void in our hearts but memories we will cherish forever.
Born in Andrews, South Carolina, Deloise was the embodiment of dignity, humility, and devotion. She was a faithful wife to her late husband Joseph Miller, a nurturing mother to her children, and a guiding light to her grandchildren. She loved and adored all her Family. Deloise was a graduate of the Class of 1967 of Rosemary High School. After High School her journey took her to Philadelphia, PA She worked in retail for years at Mariannes's Department Store.
After many years she later returned home where she continued her work in retail at BC Moores Department Store. She was loved by all who came in contact with her. Lo was a good cook and loved to cook for her family and friends.
At an early age Deloise accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. After moving to Henrico, VA she nurtured her Christian faith under watch care membership at Identity Ministries VA.
Lo had an infectious smile. She believed that true beauty came from a heart aligned with God's will. Her wisdom was gentle, her counsel sincere, and her laughter a balm to the weary. She never sought the spotlight, yet her presence illuminated every room. She was known as Aunt Lo and loved by many.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience. Her children rise and call her blessed; though our hearts ache, we rejoice in knowing she now dwells in eternal peace, having fought the good fight and kept the faith.
Mourning her journey from earth to glory are: her son, Moses Anthony Brown of Philadelphia, PA; her daughter, Deborah (Dereck) Adams of Henrico VA; grandchildren, Chanel Barnes, Amir Brown, Tyler Brown, Anton Brown, Antron Brown and Dereck Adams Jr.; great-grands, Skyy and Aura Brown; sisters, Betty (Donald) Jackson of Philadelphia, PA, Nina (Barney) Hayward, Valerie (Henry) Gibson, Peggy Cumbee and Felitcha Pinckney all of Andrews, SC; her stepchildren, Joe Miller Jr., Jamar Miller, Dana (Darryl) Darby, Jermaine (Andrea) McCullough, Keeshia McCullough and Janika Graham; brothers, Willard (Annie) Cumbee, Jr, Cochran of GA and Willie "Ev" Cumbee of Columbia, SC; one aunt, Sadie (James) Alfred of Hephzibah, GA; her in-laws, Barbara Jean Cumbee, Robert (Ruby) Miller, Hazel Miller, Harry Miller, Jeffery Miller, Aubrey (Roxicina) Miller, Bruce Miller, Priscilla Grant, Glenn Miller, Rodney (Harriet) Miller and Obresha (Curtis) Holloway; a cousin who was like a brother, Bud Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
