With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of David McClary, Sr., 86, of Lake City, SC, husband of Ada Mae Singletary McClary, who passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at MUSC, Florence, SC.

David McClary, Sr. son of the late Jackson McClary and Lottie Singleton McClary was born October 10, 1938 in Kingstree, South Carolina.

He was married to Ada Mae Singletary McClary of the home. They were married for twenty-two years. Their memories will be shared for a lifetime. On Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at MUSC, he went to be with his heavenly father.

At an early age, David took up the trade of electrician. He was employed for many years at Kings Crab Fish Market of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also worked for many years in Miami, Florida.

David joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Scranton, SC in 2015 and accepted Christ as his personal Savior.

David was preceded in death by one son, Raymond McClary; eight brothers and five sisters.

David leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Ada Mae Singletary of the home; six children, Landora Green, David McClary, Jr., Juanita Troutt, Edith Ellis, Melissa McKnight and Denise McClary; stepchildren, Ishmal Singletary, Jr. (Virginia) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Leader Cameron (Samuel) of Scranton, SC, Leroy Singletary of Lake City, SC, James Singletary (Dorothy) of Olanta, SC, Effie Montgomery (Joe) of Lake City, SC, Vermell Singletary of Florence, SC and Andrew Singletary of Lake City, SC; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
