Corette Renee` Allen, affectionately known as "NaNa" by family was born on November 24, 1978 in Williamsburg County, Kingstree, South Carolina, to Joan Singletary-Allen and the late Nelson Bryant Allen, Sr. She passed into eternal rest on Friday, September 4, 2026 at the age of 47. She was raised with strong family values, which helped shape her loving and compassionate spirited-qualities that remained a defining part of her life.

At an early age, Corette joined Sandridge Believers Holiness Church, where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.

Corette was educated in the Williamsburg County School System and graduated from Kingstree Senior High School in 1997. She later attended Grand Canyon University and Williamsburg Technical College, earning her Associate Degree in Early Childhood.

A devoted and passionate caregiver, Corette dedicated much of life to serving others through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Kingstree Nursing Home, as well as a Social Worker, Assistant and Substitute Teacher in Williamsburg County. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering commitment to caring for others touched the lives of countless patients, families and coworkers. Through her selfless services, Corette left a lasting legacy of love, kindness and compassion that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Mr. Nelson Bryant Allen, Sr.; her grandparents, Mr. Christopher and Mrs. Thelma V. Singletary; her grandparents, Mr. Mack and Elease Allen; one aunt, Taniashia Singletary; one uncle, Neal (Patricia) Allen.

Corette leaves to cherish her precious memories: her beloved children, Alreickia McCrea, Jaylan McCrea, Marty Woodard, Jr. and Markus Woodard all of Columbia, SC; her treasured grandchildren, Starr, Za'Mariel, Amira, Marty III and Roman; two she raised as her own, Deonta` Allen of Columbia, SC and Quantayzia Brown of Kingstree, SC; her loving mother, Joan Singletary-Allen of Kingstree, SC; her devoted brothers, Kevin (Charlene) Allen of Kingstree, SC and Nelson B. Allen, Jr. (Annah) of Charlotte, NC; her sisters, Thomasena McCrea, Kameakia Brockington and Chasity Allen; four aunts, Dessie McFadden of Columbia, SC, Carolyn Allen (Willie) of Lake City, SC, Delores Jones and Quintella (Joseph) Adams both of Boston, MA; one favorite and beloved uncle, Ronald C. Singletary of Kingstree, SC; three special friends she cherished deeply, Shalonda (Arthur) Bradley, Nekeycha Izzard and Evelyn Mitchum; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The family is receiving friends and family at 8 Picken Road, Kingstree, SC.
