Atlanta
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Clinton Demetrius Dorsey, 47, of Atlanta, GA, who passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
Life Reflections
Clinton Demetrius Dorsey, son of the late Clinton H. Dorsey and Ethel Alston, was born December 29, 1975, in Landover, Maryland. On Thursday, May 2, 2024, he departed this earthly life and transitioned into eternal peace.
At an early age, he became an active member of Turner A.M.E. Memorial Church in Washington, DC. There he was also involved in the Youth Ministry, a Youth Usher and a member of the Youth Choir. He later joined Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Fort Washington, Maryland.
He graduated from Archbishop High School in Washington, DC in 1995 and then attended Morgan State University on a football scholarship. While at Morgan State, he was the co-founder of the Morgan State Go-Go Band.
Demetrius had a passion for music. In 2005, he relocated to Atlanta, GA to pursue his career in the music industry. In doing so, as a record producer, he created Beats for multiple Platinum Records that later became Gold and Platinum Records.
His affection for his dog GiGi also turned into a successful breeding business that he enjoyed tremendously.
Demetrius was employed at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA, as a sound engineer in the music department.
Those left to cherish his loving memories are: one daughter, Kayla E. Dorsey of Dover, DE; one son, Edward J. Dorsey of Atlanta, GA; one granddaughter, Khloe Luke of Dover, DE; his mother, Ethel Alston (Jerry Sherman) of Fort Washington, MD; one brother, Tariehk Dorsey (Suzette) of Fredericksburg, VA; one sister, Lawanna Verner of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves to mourn; his uncles and aunts, Herman Dorsey, Eva Dorsey, Ronnie Dorsey (Adelia), Wilbur Dorsey (Debbie), Sandra Wilson, Abigail Cooper, Willie James Alston, Richard Alston, William J. Alston, Jaunita Powell and Vivian Loretta Wilson (Willie); a devoted father-figure, Jerry Sherman; very loving friends, Suzannah Wilson, Aaron Jackson, Keith A. Robinson; big sister/cousin, Joanne Alston; special cousins Katherine Hayward, Linda Dorsey, Nelson (Jr) Hayward, Willie Wilson, Jr., KenTwan (Tron) Dorsey and Terrance Dorsey; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding Demetrius in death are: his father, Clinton H. Dorsey, his grandparents, Epps and Mary Dorsey, Isaiah and Minnie Alston.
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set on me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little but not too long, and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love we once shared, miss me-but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's Plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know and bury your sorrow in doing good deeds, miss me but let me go.
