Hemingway
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Claire McFadden, 86, of Hemingway, SC, who passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024.
Life Reflections
Mr. Claire McFadden, age 86, peacefully answered the call of our Heavenly Father on the morning of 13 May 2024 at his home in Hemingway, South Carolina, due to natural causes. He was born August 16, 1937 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina to the late George and Louvenia McFadden. He married his beloved wife longtime friend and love, Inez McFadden on November 23, 1980 who preceded him in death on July 13, 2019.
Mr. McFadden was preceded in death by: his parents, the late George and Louvenia McFadden; brothers, Samuel McFadden, George McFadden, Dearieo McFadden, John W. McFadden, Dock McFadden, Robert W. McFadden and Norman McFadden; sister, Mary Irene Coulter and his loving wife, Inez McFadden. Our beloved Uncle and Brother is the Last Living son of George and Louvenia McFadden. He met his beloved wife, Inez Smalls McFadden (Home Health CNA) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1978. They married November 23, 1980 for a loving marriage of over 40 years
He loved his family and other people. He retired from Griffin Brothers Landscaping after 25 years of service. He spent many of his later years in Hemingway, South Carolina where he was born and raised. He worked around the home and had a pond built in his backyard.
He had a servant heart, and he loved the Lord. He was a Trustee and was the Father of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He would give his last to help his family no matter their age or the situation. He was a true selfless service advocate, always ensuring everyone else was okay before himself.
His life was a living example of his favorite Bible verse, John 15:12-13 — "This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Mr. McFadden is survived by: his sister, Barbarian Ann Griffin of New Jersey; daughter, Joanne Ciszewski of South Carolina and sons, Michael King of Pennsylvania and Vincent Smalls of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Estella McFadden of North Carolina; niece, Gwendolyn McFadden of North Carolina; eight nephews, Kenny and wife, Debra McFadden, Isadore, Tim McFadden all of North Carolina, Norman McFadden of South Carolina, Anthony Coulter of Georgia, George E. Coulter, Jr. and wife, Kimberly Coulter of Oregon, Dearieo Coulter of South Carolina, Reginald Coulter and wife, Charlotte Coulter of Georgia; two granddaughters, Margarita Holmes and Victoria Childs both of Georgia; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
