Born on January 3, 1982, in Florence, South Carolina, to Samuel and Mary Franklin, he grew up in the close-knit neighborhood of Kennedy Park in Lake City. From an early age, Chris displayed a vibrant spirit, excelling in both academics and athletics at Lake City High School. As a proud member of the school's marching band drumline and track team, he embraced teamwork and discipline-qualities that would shape his future endeavors.
In 2000, Chris answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps as a Low Altitude Air Defense Gunner. His service took him to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina and later to Iraq during Operation Phantom Fury. Throughout his military career, he was recognized for his bravery and commitment, earning numerous honors, including the Combat Action Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Certificate of Commendation, Certificate of Appreciation, and the Marksman Rifle Badge. After completing his service, Chris pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ashford University. He later built a successful career with Pike Industries in Sunrise, Florida, as a foreman, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and leadership. In the early morning of February 27, 2025, Chris departed this earthly life.
