With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Charles H. Byrd, 82, of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of St. Stephen, SC, husband of Emiller Byrd, who passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Obituary

Charles H. Byrd was born on August 3, 1942 in Boynton Beach, Florida to the late Charles & Minnie Lee Coleman Byrd. For over 60 years, he owned and operated Byrd Landscaping. He was the first black owned business on the Island of Palm Beach and the youngest to ever receive a mortgage in Palm Beach County.

Charles will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Emiller G. Byrd; children, Darryll, Alan, Bill, Frank, Russell, Calvin who preceded him, Kathy (Aaron), Damon, Rodney, Charlette, Christopher and special daughter, Chanel; several grands, great and great-great grandchildren; five sisters, Bernice (LaVon), Deloris (Clayton) Orethia, Diane, Regina and May Helen who preceded him; one brother, Bonnie and one brother-in-law, Henry. He leaves a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, neighbors and extended church family.
