Life Reflections

"May the work I have done speak for itself."

On Monday, May 27, 2024, Sister Buetine Pressley transitioned from her earthly home into eternal rest. She was born on April 7, 1962 to the late Lois M. Tisdale and Marvin Mitchum.

At an early age,  Buetine joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Herman Gibson Jr. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized. She served in many positions at Mt. Olive but working with the youth choir is what she enjoyed the most. Buetine loved children! Later in life she became a member of The Church of God and True Holiness Church. She loved serving and helping wherever the spirit would lead her.

Buetine attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She graduated from Williamsburg Technical College in 2009 with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked many jobs over the years, but her passion was always working with children. Buetine worked for Little Smurf Daycare in Andrews, SC for many years. She later became employed with  Williamsburg County First Steps as a Parent Educator and Lee County First Steps Strengthening Families Program as a Botvin Teens Life Skills Group Leader and Children Group where she worked faithfully until her health began to fail. She was dedicated and committed to teaching and helping others wherever she would go.

Buetine was united in Holy Matrimony to Elvis Pressley on October 9th, 1979 and they were blessed with four beautiful children.

Loved ones who will cherish her memories forever are: her husband, Elvis Pressley of the home; a devoted son, Elvis Germaine Pressley (Pamela) of Stockbridge, GA; her beautiful and loving daughters, Erica (Charles) Morris of Kingstree, SC, Kelly (Earl) Burgess of Andrews, SC, and Latonya Pressley of Kingstree, SC; sixteen grandchildren whom she absolutely adored, Makiah, Makirah, PFC Darius Morris, Joshua, Ebony, Evon, Elyse & Elycia, Emily, Daijah, Jada, Ny'Asia, Ziyerrah, Harmony, Ke'Monie, and Little Miss Kaylani Buetine Pressley.
