With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Bernice Hughes, 52, of Lake City, SC, who passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025.

Life Reflections

Bernice, "Niecey/BB/Bern" Hughes, was born on November 28, 1972 in Florence, South Carolina, to Mother Rosa Mae Felder Hughes and the late Eugene Hughes, Sr. Bernice was the eighth of twelve children.

Bernice worked at Piggly Wiggly, Kj's Market and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She attended Lake High City School Class of 91, as well as furthering her education at Denmark Tech.

Bernice departed this earthly life on Monday, September 22, 2025.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Eugene Hughes, Sr. and brother, Eugene Hughes, Jr. "BO".

Those left to cherish her memories: her mother, Rosa Mae Felder Hughes of Lake City, SC; three kids, Lakendra Hughes of Rock Hill, SC, Demaray Skipper and Jacarri McCutcheon-Hughes both of Lake City, SC; her brothers, Richard A. Hughes (Sharon) of Kentucky, John Henry (Ronda) Hughes and Jerome (Anita) Hughes both of North Carolina, Jimmie L. (Celestine) Hughes of South Carolina, Terry Wayne (Tiffany) Hughes of Texas, Levern Marco (Michelle) Hughes of Summerville, SC, Alfonso (Marcella)  Hughes of Georgia, Claretha Hughes of Arkansas, Margaret Ann (Anthony) McFadden and Roselind L. Hughes both of South Carolina; three grandkids, Zhian R. Hughes, Jha'mere A. Robinson and Z'nylah S. Hughes all of Rock Hill, SC; seven aunts; three uncles; a host of cousins and relatives, as well as 31 nieces and nephews.

The family is receiving friends and family at 222 Wilson St. Lake City, SC.
