Barbara Lee
Huell
Nov 22, 1944 — Jan 4, 2025
Winder
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Barbara Lee Huell, 80, of Winder, GA, formerly of Salters, SC, widow of the late Freddie Lee Huell, who passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
For The Family
On November 22, 1944, Edith Theodora Smith and Charle Meadows gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They named her Barbar Lee Meadows. Barbara was the first and only daughter among 5 brothers. Her siblings, Lee Meadows, Theodore Meadows, Charles Meadows, Leroy Meadows and Leon Meadows (Omowale Olaniyan) were a huge part of her upbringing. Later in her life as her brothers married, her family grew exponentially. For the first time, Barbara could become a part of a sisterhood, Patricia Meadows, Julia Meadows, Gail Meadows and Esubi Olaniyan, were her Sisters-In-Law or rather her "Love-in-Laws is what she used to call them. She had so much love for her newfound sisters and made sure everyone knew it.
Barbara married three incredible men, William Cooper, John Tompkins and Freddie Lee Huell were her knights in shining amore. Through her marriage, she gave birth to 5 children and helped to raise 5 stepchildren. Barbara was a proud mother and wife, Eugene Johnson, Bonita Maria Meadows, William Cooper. Jr, April Denise Meadows & Preston Williams, Shonnae Jacques Parks (Omolara Awojobi-Ogunfunmilola) & Michael Parks, Freddie Lee Huell, Jolene Huell, Belinda Huell, Shatrita Huell and Tangela Huell were the lights of her life. After Bonita's untimely death, Barbara found a new life's purpose. Taking care of her daughter's children became her responsibility. As a grandmother she did everything in her power to keep her family together.
The say, "A Mother's work is never finished." And this saying rang true as Barbara's family continued to grow. Her grandchildren were Lakita Meadows, Antonio Meadows, Timothy Meadows, Maurice Meadows, Jessica Meadows, Barbara Meadows, Nancy Bell, Tiffany Meadows, Omiji Meadows, Gemini Meadows, Sonya Duty, Shandra Meadows, Eudell Duty, Lisa Baker, Nisa Baker, Melanie Williams, Regina Williams, Janet Kornegay, Victoria Jacques Forde, Queen Jacques Ferde with a host of great grandchildren and adopted children that she loved dearly.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
