Pineville
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Audrey Mae Bennett-Smith, 72, of Pineville, SC, who passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Life Reflections
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7–8 (KJV)
Audrey Mae Bennett-Smith was born on June 28, 1953 in St. Stephen, South Carolina to the late Missionary Sadie R. Bennett and Bishop Henry L. Bennett, Jr. On the morning of Saturday, January 24, 2026, she answered the Master's Call at her daughter's residence in Pineville, South Carolina.
Audrey was educated in the Berkeley County School System. She graduated with the class of 1971 at St. Stephen High School. From her youth to adulthood she attended White Chapel Holiness Church in St. Stephen, SC.
She met the late Reverend William J. Smith, while visiting family in Baltimore, MD. They were married and blessed with their only child, Sanarada Smith Lampkin.
Audrey was a nice, quiet person. She was always known for her classy, unique, and elaborate sense of style, beauty, fashion, and interior design. She did a little modeling for many years. Audrey took great pride in dressing her mother, Sadie Bennett, from head to toe.
Audrey moved to Orlando, FL, where she lived for nearly 50 years until she developed serious health issues. She moved back to South Carolina to live with her daughter on May 4, 2025. During this time she enjoyed spending time with family, going various places, eating southern food, and lots of fried fish.
Audrey spent her last 8 1/2 months being cared for by her loving daughter, Sanarada and her son-in-law, Keith. Those months brought many memorable, sweet, long-lasting, unforgettable and priceless moments.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Sanarada (Keith, Sr.) Lampkin of Pineville, SC; two grandchildren, Keithashia R. Lampkin of Pineville, SC and Keith (Courtney) Lampkin, Jr., of Holly Hill, SC; one sister, Verna R. Bennett of St. Stephen, SC; three brothers, Deacon Harry L. (Elder Sandra) Bennett, Elder Alonza R (Frances) Bennett, and Willie H. Bennett, all of St. Stephen, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
The family received friends and family at 248 St. Peters Church Road, Pineville, SC, on Tuesday, January 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen, SC. 843-354-2292.
