Life's Reflections

"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted"

Annie Lee "Florine" Milligan, a resident of Murrell Block Drive in Pineville, SC entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Lake Moultrie Health and Rehab in St. Stephen, SC.

Annie affectionately called Mama, Sis Florine, and Flo was born on December 06, 1926, to the late Douglas and Rebecca Cooper in Pineville, SC. Preceding her in death are her loving husband, Herbert P. Milligan; a daughter, Flora M. Wilson; granddaughters, Karen Wilson and Ebony Milligan; sisters, Queen Pinckney and Ruth Cooper; brothers, Allen and Buster Cooper. She was the oldest of ten children and began her Christian journey in the Redeemer RE Church. She was a faithful member of Adult Choir, Sunday School, and worked in any capacity that was asked.

Annie attended and graduated from JK Gourdin in Pineville, SC. After completing high school, she was joined into holy matrimony to the late Herbert P. Milligan. This union was blessed with five children. She worked the fields and then started working at William Heller in Moncks Corner, SC. In addition to working there, she continued working in the fields and taught some of her children the skills of working the field. She was nurturing and loving, but believed in strong discipline.

Her love for flowers was quite obvious as her yard was always one to visit. She kept an eye out for the yards in the community so she could try to stay on top. Swapping flower was real to her and the others who loved flowers as well. She nurtured her grandchildren with great passion. Fashion was also a passion because she was always dressed to the Tee!! She also loved to cook and shared with anyone who came to visit. Everyone loved her sweet potatoes pie.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories: her dedicated and loving children: Robert (Elaine), Herbert, Jr (Sarah) of Pineville, SC, Shirley (Aiken) Williams of Covington, GA, Arlene Calloway (Phillip) of Walterboro, SC, and a grand reared in the home Tracy (Deirdra) of Acworth, GA; siblings: Edward Cooper and Geneva McCray of Pineville, SC, Samuel Cooper of NJ, Clarence Cooper and Virgie M Hambric of NY; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; a loving Goddaughter, Gloria J. Taylor; a bonus daughter, Dorothy Jenkins and a bonus daughter-in-law, Alvinia P Wilson. Also cherishing her memories are 6 sisters-in-laws, 2 brothers-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close cousins and friends.

A special thank you to those who assisted her during her illness including Lake Moultrie Health and Rehab of St. Stephen's compassionate staff, Crystal Gadsden and Cynthia Pinckney.

All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen, SC. 843-354-2292.
