With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Alfred Gathers, 57, formerly of Bonneau, SC, who passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Obituary

Alfred Gathers, uniquely known as 'Fud' was born to Margrette Beaufort Gethers and Sandy Gethers on May 14, 1966, in Bonneau, South Carolina.

Alfred attended Macedonia High School and thereafter enrolled in Job Corp. Additionally, he attained licensing in home health care and worked for an elderly home in Alvin. Afterwards, he relocated to New Jersey and continued his home health care career. Next, Alfred made the decision to relocate to Miami, Florida where he married his childhood sweetheart and spent much of his life with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Love for his children and grandkids was of utmost importance to him. If nothing else is known about him, one thing is certain, he was known for his ability to entertain. He filled our hearts with love, jokes, and laughter and an occasional two-step. Alfred was the life of the party.

Alfred was preceded in passing by both his parents and three of his siblings, Cynthia Starks, Percy Gethers, and Wayne Elijah
Gethers.

Alfred leaves to mourn his five beautiful daughters, Karen Greene (Brandan) of St. Stephen, SC, Lakeshia Greene of Orangeburg, SC, Camille Gathers of Charleston, SC, Elizabeth Foster (Julius), and Unique Corgile of St. Stephen, SC and one son, Alfred Greene Jr. of St. Stephen, SC. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Rachari Janvier, Dajari Janvier, Donovan Janvier, Eli Turner, Calvin Johnson, Julius Foster III, Richard Foster, Cameron Foster, Amari Foster, Xander, and Skylar Foster, Jay'Cion Drayton, Maaliyah Drayton, London Rose Greene, Alfred Aljane Greene, and Ariana Greene.

Alfred's memory will forever be cherished by his siblings which consists of five brothers: William James Bynum, Sandy Gethers, Henry
Gethers, Cazzie Gethers, and Chavis Gethers and two sisters: Mary Greene and Linda Morant (Larry). Finally, he is survived by a host of
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
