Manning

Life Reflections
Adlee McCray Nesmith Ingram, the beloved daughter of the late Calvin and Lizzy McCray, was born on January 20, 1946, in Trio, South Carolina. She peacefully departed this life on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at her home in Manning, South Carolina.
Adlee received her early education in Williamsburg County and graduated from Tomlinson School in 1965. She later pursued a career as a Homecare worker in Wayne, New Jersey, where she served her community with compassion and dedication for many years. She retired from her work in New Jersey and moved back to South Carolina in 2001, returning home to the comfort of family and familiar surroundings. Upon her return, she joined Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Reverend Jerome Wilson, where she renewed her commitment to worship and fellowship.
Adlee was first united in marriage to the late Oliver Leroy Nesmith, and to this union three children were born. She later married the late Eddie B. Ingram, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage while living in Patterson, New Jersey. Through this union, she gained seven bonus children, one child preceded her in death, Alice Ingram. She lovingly reared two nieces as her own. Adlee found joy in life's simple pleasures—working through the pages of her many crossword puzzle books, watching her daily westerns, and spending precious time chatting on the phone with her family daily. These moments brought her comfort and happiness and were a cherished part of her daily routine.
Adlee leaves to cherish her memories: eight daughters, Olivia (Frank Jr.) Hampton of Columbia, SC, Vanessa (Michael) Keels of Manning, SC, Corine Ingram, Pat Ingram, Daisy (Willie) Blockum all of Greensboro, GA, Princess (Rubin) Rowland of Madison, GA, Gwendolyn Mouzon and Jeanetta (Sam) McCrea both of Kingstree, SC; three sons, Anthony Nesmith of Summerville, SC, Eddie "Pop" Ingram Jr. and Will Ingram both of Greensboro, GA; thirty-five grandchildren, fifty-seven great‑grandchildren; two brothers, Eddie (Pat) White Sr. of Miami, FL and John (Shelia) McCray of Paterson, NJ; four sisters‑in‑law, Betty White Gordon of Kingstree, SC, Jamie McCray of Thomasville, GA, Betty James of Albany, GA and Essie Mae Scott of Tennessee; she is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends, including a special cousin, Rutha Mae Gasque of Sampit, SC. A special thank‑you is extended to Gayle Parson of Addus HealthCare for her dedicated care and support. Adlee's life was a testament to strength, devotion, and unwavering faith.
The family is receiving friends and family at 1356 Tuttle Rd, Manning, SC.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
