Addie Mae Hodge left this world on January 8, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on January 24, 1958, Addie's life was a testament to the power of love, joy, and kindness. For many years, she was a cherished member of the Oakwood CTH II community, where she formed deep, lasting bonds with both staff and fellow residents. Her radiant smile and gentle nature brightened every room she entered, and she became a beloved presence at Oakwood.

Though Addie was non-verbal, she had an extraordinary ability to communicate her feelings. Her ever-present smile, affectionate gestures, and joyful spirit spoke louder than words ever could. Addie's playful nature was evident in the small yet meaningful things she did-whether sticking her tongue out to show she was having fun or blowing bubbles to let others know she was near. Even though health challenges prevented her from walking, Addie would roll in her wheelchair to those she loved, offering her head as a gesture of affection and trust.

She had a special bond with her housemates, who became like sisters to her: Juanita Brown, Rebecca Bines, and Natasha Sims. She is also deeply mourned by her extended family at WCDSNB and the dedicated staff at Oakwood CTH II, all of whom had the privilege of knowing her.

As we celebrate Addie's life, we find solace in knowing that her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her. Her beautiful smile, her affectionate touch, and her uplifting spirit will never be forgotten.
