William Charley Nesmith
July 19, 1925 - October 28, 2012
Mr. William Charlie Nesmith was the son of William and Hannah Nesmith. He was born on July 19, 1925. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
Charlie Nesmith attended Trio Elementary School. He worked at Merita Bakery for forty-five years, until he retired. After retiring, he assisted with the family janitorial service before returning back to Trio. Charlie was a faithful member and Deacon of the First Church of Christ until his health failed. He was a man that loved reading the Bible, singing, fishing, gardening, driving and spending time with family.
Charlie Nesmith was married to Mamie Ruth Nesmith for fifty years.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, Valarie Nesmith; his daughters, Iva Scott (Arthur Scott), Loris Nesmith and Val Nesmith; brothers and sisters, James Nesmith, Lizzy Bell Nesmith and Sammy Nesmith.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Mamie Ruth Nesmith of Andrews, SC; his children, Christine Nesmith and Charles Nesmith (Vickie) both of Charlotte, NC, Robert Nesmith and Sammantha Nesmith both of Andrews, SC, Donald Nesmith (Sherry) of Charlotte, NC; one stepson, Freddie Eaton of Columbia, SC; one brother, William Nesmith, Jr. (Eloise) of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Annamae Chandler (Samuel) of Andrews, SC, Catherine Whitmore of Charlotte, NC and Susanna Salters (James) of Georgetown, SC; eight grandchildren, Willie, Valarie, Latonya, Daron, Edweana, Cherrii, Dontay and Lakisha; eleven grandchildren, Demarco, Sharelle, Ariel, Kaia, Amaiya, Malaya, Jayda, Mariah, Devin, Aiden and Kendra; three great-grandchildren, Saniya, Markez and Demario; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
